Our monthly sales meeting looked a little different this August. RLAH agents and staff were treated to a special guest, Allan Dalton, CEO of The Real Living Brand, Senior VP of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices and the former CEO of Realtor.com.  Dalton provided an incredibly inspiring conversation hosted at the DC Association of Realtors’ Headquarters.  RLAH’s brokerage-level marketing has been heavily influenced by Dalton and every time he visits to share his expertise and thoughtful advice, RLAH agents benefit immediately.

There were many important takeaways from Dalton’s talk, including several principles necessary to become a more effective REALTOR®.

1. Be Confident: It’s important to be confident in the fact that you made the right career decision, that you’re with the right company, and most importantly, that you’re confident in yourself and your abilities.

2. Be a Marketing Marvel: A successful  agent must make a science out of knowing the market.  Real Estate is more than just “listing” a property, it’s about how you market it to the consumer.
3. Be a World-Class Networker: Networking is the most important thing you can do to keep your clients for life. It’s here to remind people that you’re there for them, even when they don’t currently need you. Stay top of mind.
4. Be Community Centric: The best way to be the talk of the town is to talk about the town. You’re there to represent the community, not serve it.
5. Be Communicative: 100% of a REALTOR®’s job is communication. People and communication determine the price, not the market itself.

These are just a few of the great pieces of advice Allan Dalton spoke on. For more information on Allan Dalton and Real Living, you can find his executive biography HERE.

RLAH Real Estate Named to the 2021 Inc. 5000 List of the Nation’s Fastest Growing Private-Companies

WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 17, 2021) – Inc. magazine today revealed that RLAH Real Estate is No. 3,336 on its annual Inc. 5000 list, the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses. Intuit, Zappos, Under Armour, Microsoft, Patagonia, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.

“We’re honored to be ranked on this prestigious list for the first time, especially after a tumultuous year,” said RLAH President, Justin Levitch. “Our agents and staff have worked tirelessly to improve our business and grow our revenue throughout the years. We hope to improve our growth and our ranking on the list with each year to come.”

Not only have the companies on the 2021 Inc. 5000 been very competitive within their markets, but this year’s list also proved especially resilient and flexible given 2020’s unprecedented challenges. Among the 5,000, the average median three-year growth rate soared to 543 percent, and median revenue reached $11.1 million. Together, those companies added more than 610,000 jobs over the past three years.

Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/inc5000. The top 500 companies are featured in the September issue of Inc., which will be available on newsstands on August 20.

“The 2021 Inc. 5000 list feels like one of the most important rosters of companies ever compiled,” says Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc. “Building one of the fastest-growing companies in America in any year is a remarkable achievement. Building one in the crisis we’ve lived through is just plain amazing. This kind of accomplishment comes with hard work, smart pivots, great leadership, and the help of a whole lot of people.”

About Inc. and the Inc. 5000
Methodology
Companies on the 2021 Inc. 5000 are ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2017 to 2020. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2017. They must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2020. (Since then, some on the list may have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2017 is $100,000; the minimum for 2020 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Growth rates used to determine company rankings were calculated to three decimal places. There was one tie on this year’s Inc. 5000.  Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at http://www.inc.com/inc5000.

RealTrends Names RLAH Real Estate on 2021 Game Changers List of Top Growth Brokerage Firms

Chevy Chase, MD (June 15th, 2021) – RealTrends, the trusted source in residential real estate, released today its third annual RealTrends Game Changers List of industry brokerage leaders. RLAH Real Estate, a locally owned and operated brokerage in the DMV, along with CEO Jason Sherman, were placed on the list for the first time, qualifying in 8th place out of only 14 brokerages named across the nation.

“RLAH’s success is due to teamwork”, said Jason Sherman, CEO. “Teamwork between staff and agents. Our client is the agent and we try and make their job easier by doing everything we can to support them. It’s an interesting time for our industry, but keeping our heads down and focusing on what is most important has made a huge difference in our success.”

This year, RealTrends targeted the top growth brokerage firms and chose the leaders from both national networks and independents. The brokerages were chosen based on transaction side percentage growth between 2016-2020. RLAH’ Real Estate’s growth percentage rate was +172% over the course of those four years.

It’s an incredible feat to be named to this list, especially as a small, locally-owned brokerage, amongst other nationally operated brokerages. RLAH’s continued persistence and growth-mindset has made them a welcomed staple in one of the nation’s most competitive real estate markets.

Golf Fore A Cause, Sponsored by RLAH Real Estate, Raises Over $38,000 for Two Local Charities

Chevy Chase, MD (June 3rd, 2021) – The 2021 Golf Fore A Cause charity golf tournament, held on Monday, May 5th, raised over $38,000 for Community of Hope and NBCDI. The second annual tournament, put together by Balaram Owens and Ryk Palmer of RLAH Real Estate, was an incredible success thanks to all attendees and their sponsors.

“This event, and all the money raised, would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the incredible generosity of our sponsors and attendees.” said co-chair Ryk Palmer. “$38,000 is an incredible amount of money and we are so proud to donate it to Community of Hope and NBCDI. They are deserving of every single dollar and we hope to continue to raise more and more money each and every year.”

Community of Hope has two main goals: to end homelessness for families and to improve health and eliminate inequities in health outcomes in under-resourced communities.

NBCDI, the National Black Child Development Institute, has a mission to improve and advance the quality of life for Black children and families through education and advocacy.

“We’ve carefully chosen these two charities because of the amazing things they do to help our communities,” said co-chair Balaram Owens. “Ryk and I stand for inclusion, love, acceptance, and support. If we do not love our neighbors, all of our neighbors, how do we love anyone? We will continue to develop meaningful ways to use our voice, platform, and social capital to fight racial injustice.”

Sponsors of this year’s tournament included RLAH Real Estate, First Home Mortgage, Vellum Mortgage, C.L.A. Title & Escrow, LLC, DMV Title & Escrow, LLC, Eagle Creek, and Loan Depot.

The event, held at the Montgomery Country Club in Laytonsville, MD, began with the welcome speech, followed by a putting contest and 18 holes of golf. Following the tournament, all participants were treated to lunch and an open bar while they participated in a silent auction. The event concluded with closing remarks from the announcement of the winners.
